AVON Product Review: Cleansers for 30+

Name of Product:

ANEW Rejuvenate Revitalizing 2 in 1 in Gel Cleanser.

Where You Can Buy It:

AVON product #510-271

Product Description:

1.  Deep cleans and tones

2.  Rejuvenates fatigued looking skin.

3.  Continued use improves skin texture and makes pores look tighter.

4.  Visibly reduces lines.

5.  Dermatologist tested.

6.  Allergy tested.

Who This Product is Intended For:

The ANEW Rejuvenate Revitalizing 2-in-1 Gel Cleanser is designed for women in their 30’s or even late 20’s who are experiencing early signs of aging.

Early signs: Dull skin, fine lines and enlarged pores.

Pro’s:

1.  Unlike soap, it makes your skin feel clean and residue free.

2.  It’s both a cleanser and toner combined, thus saving you money and time in the morning.

3.  Gentle on your skin.

4.  Deep cleansing helps control blackheads and breakouts.

Con’s:

1.  Some customers who have tried the product say if you have very dry skin, you may want to dry a different cleanser.  Others say it doesn’t dry out their skin.

2.  A very small minority of people who are very sensitive to fragrances, think the fragrance is overwhelming, but the majority really like it.

3.  If you have very sensitive skin and know the sensation of feeling like your skin is burning after you’ve used either a cleanser or even a moisturizer, you might experience it with this.  Again, it’s rare, but like with any other product it does happen.

4. It doesn’t remove make-up like water-proof mascara.

Personal Opinion:

Everyone’s skin responds differently to every product on the market.  The same goes for this.  If you look at the Pro’s, remember that some users have experienced the opposite.  If you look at the Con’s, remember that some users have experienced the opposite.

My mom, who’s in her mid-70’s, loves this product, which is designed for people 40 years younger.   If someone else in her age ranged used it, they would probably wonder about her sanity.

I read a lot of product reviews before I ever decide to buy something.  But in the end, the only way I know if the product is worth anything is to try it out myself.  If you don’t like it, you can return it to AVON for a full refund.

Where You Can Buy It:

AVON product #510-271

Skin Products Reviews: A Soap Free Cleanser

It’s important to use a good cleanser, preferably a soap free cleanser, on your face each day to unclog pores and keep your skin from looking dry and dull.

The Problem With Soap

I say a soap free cleanser because a lot of women still use just a basic bar of soap, like Dove or Ivory, to wash their face with and soap tends to dry your skin out like the Sahara. It also doesn’t get down into the pours like a good regular cleanser is formulated to do.

What a Good Cleanser Should Do

Since I covered moisturizers yesterday and mentioned AVON’s new line of Solutions, I wanted to bring up the subject again of the new Solutions AM/PM moisturizing cleansers.

If you have really dry skin, like me, the AM/PM Maximum Moisturizer is perfect. “84% of women who use it say their skin looks softer and more supple and moisturized.”

The night cleanser has a duel purpose. It’s a rich cleansing cream that removes makeup and the daily buildup of environmental impurities that have collected on your skin through the day.

I find it to be a very relaxing creamy cleanser. It goes deep to clean your pores. I love that part because I ride a Yamaha Scooter and road grime on my face is a real problem, even though I have a face shield on my helmet.

Tips On Removing The Night Time Cleanser.

You can either wash it off with warm or blot it off with tissue. If you have super dry skin, I’d go with blotting it off with a tissue.

The Day Time Cleanser

Unlike the night time cleanser, the day cleanser is an energizing gel that deeps cleans to remove the overnight buildup. I think it’s a refreshing pick me up to the morning.

Tip On Removing the Day Time Cleanser

Unlike the night time cleanser, where you have the option of removing the cleanser with a tissue, with the day time cleanser you thoroughly wash it off with warm water.

Coming Sunday!

Check back Sunday for a list of Cleanser options that are based on your age and what it does for each group!

See you then!

AVON Product Review: Avon Solutions Comparison

Yes, I know I’ve already done a product review of Avon Solutions Dramatic Firming Cream.

And I’ve also done one on AVON’s new Solutions PM/AM creams. But today I want to compare the two because I’ve been experimenting with them.

Last week, I had cataract surgery and with the aid of a contact lens in the opposite eye, I no longer wear glasses. Let me tell ya, glasses hide a million wrinkles. I took one look in the mirror afterward and nearly screamed. For 49 years old, my skin was looking like I was in my upper 50’s. That’s terrifying.

My Experience:

I decided to switch off to AVON Solutions Dramatic Firming cream again. It’s been a week and I’ve noticed an incredible difference in my skin. It’s really tightened up, more than I had expected it would.

Now what’s the difference between the Dramatic Firming cream and the new AVON’s Solution AM/PM? Well, it’s like this, I love them both, BUT! I think the Dramatic Firming cream is better if you want your face to stay in one place as you get older. The new Solutions AM/PM is absolutely brilliant for dry skin, of which I have, but the Dramatic Cream also provides a good amount of moisture and if you combine it with the Nurtura Replenishing Cream for night, I think it does just as good a job, AND for less money. Another reason for my change of opinion, where I chose the new Solutions over the Dramatic Firming cream and Nurtura, is that your skin changes and not just with age. It also changes due to your diet, exercise and sleeping habits.

That’s my experience with the two Solutions. I love them both, but there are certain times when one out does the other.

Now It’s Your Turn:

For yourself, here’s what you need to do to continue making an intelligent decision on the products themselves.

1. Do your own homework.

2. Follow the links to the products, which will take you to my AVON store.

3. Read what other’s have said about the products.

4. Look at the ingredients in the products, if those play a high priority in your decision of what kinds of products you use.

Teapots for One!

My baby has arrived! Um...not the biped kind, but my little Cozy Tea for One. I love it! In fact, today has been so crappy that it's completely brightened my day.

How crappy has it been? I awoke to Jeff the Cat peeing on my nylon cooler, Kitty puking milk all over her kittens playroom and her four kittens wondering how it tastes and if they can play in it, and from there on - it was all downhill.

Anyway, a short bit ago my AVON order came, which I forgot was coming, and inside was my Cozy Tea for One! It's sitting to my right, keeping my green tea with honey and milk nice and hot.

I took it with me when I delivered mom's order. She was surprised it's as big as it is. She thought it looked much smaller in the brochure, of course the one in the brochure is only a little over an inch tall. In real life it's much bigger. So for those of you who might be thinking the same thing - the water pot holds 21 fl oz. The cup holds 8 oz. It's also microwave and dishwasher safe.

I think this would make a great gift for any tea lover, and while you're at it, why not buy one for your desk at work and let your co-workers place bets on whether or not you'll manage to knock it over and ruin your work. Insist on getting a percentage of the winning bid. You can't lose!

Let's talk feet!

This morning after my Turbulence Training workout, I was sweating like a pig and my feet were sore from doing box steps. Try this mini-workout: The box step workout and you'll see what I mean:

1. Begin with your right foot on a step.
2. Quickly switch places by hopping left foot up to the step, while returning your right foot to the floor.
3. Keep alternating until you've done 25 -100 reps.

Do 4 sets with a 1 -2 minute break in between.

I'd video tape the mini, but I look absolutely ridiculous. (grin)

Anyway! Back to my story! I was really disgusted with myself for not wearing my CoolMax Fitness Socks. I needed the arch support and cushion they give. But it was early and my brain wasn't functioning.

Anyway! Guarantee you tomorrow morning I'll have them on while cycling. Yip, they help even then. How? They keep my feet cool, and then as mentioned - they give my feet the support they need.

So, if you're feet get too hot while working out or simply going about your day, or you need the extra support, give them a try. Right now, AVON has them on sale for 33% off!

AVON Product Review: AVON Solutions Hydrofirming Eye Cream

AVON Product Review: AVON Solutions Hydrofirming Eye Cream

I've finally found something that's working on my dry eyes! My eyes tend to be really dry under my eyes and around to the corners. Needless to say, I have lovely crows feet.

So, on this last campaign (C-1) with the buy one Solutions product get a second one for $1.99 I bought another Nurtura Replenishing Cream and the Hydrofirming eye cream. It was worth the $1.99 risk. :]

I noticed a significant difference by day 2, both in firmness and moisture. AVON claims it "super moisturises" and it does. The moisturising reduces the appearances of lines. The cream itself feels really good. It's a soothing feeling putting it on - you'll love it!

It's listed as a night cream, but like with Nurtura, I use it in the day as well.

As for how well it does in the ratings? AVON Solutions Hydrofirming Eye Cream receives 4.4 stars outa 5, with 90% saying they would recommend it to a friend.

AVON Product Review: Dramatic Firming Cream

AVON Product Review: Dramatic Firming Cream

Yesterday I said I picked up AVON Solutions Nurtura Replenishing Cream. I also picked up AVON Solutions Dramatic Firming Cream to compare the two.

The Dramatic Firming Cream, another name that makes those of us turning 50 sound like we're the 2000 year old woman, has a nice satiny feel and pleasant smell to it. It goes on nice. The firming kicks straight in and your face feels pretty tight.

I'm not as crazy about it as I am the Nurtura Replenishing Cream. It doesn't keep my face as moisturised as the Nurtura. Don't get me wrong, I like it - just not as well.

So what's in it that makes your face firmer, improves elasticity and resilience? Vitamin E, carrot, apricot and arnica oil. AVON says you'll notice the above in 4 weeks. I haven't done the 4 week test yet, because I keep going back to Nurtura. I can say Nurtura makes a difference.

Anyway! AVON Solutions Dramatic Firming Cream scores 4.5 outa 5 five stars. Head over and check out the comments! You'll be surprised that for a cream that only costs $8.50 ($4.99 on sale at the time of this writing with a buy one get one for $1.99) at how many women in their 50's use it and get great results!

Make it a great day!

AVON Product Review: Nurtura Replenishing Cream

Nurtura Replenishing Cream

Just a note before you read on. Remember that every person's skin type is different and that not all creams respond the same with every one who uses them.

Having said that! On with the show! Being an AVON rep I try to test out as many AVON products that I can. Sometimes I use test guinea pigs (my regular customers) to test products for me. Today's product I tested myself.

I've avoided AVON Solutions Nurtura Replenishing Cream for one good reason - it costs a pathetic $8.00. That screams cheap and worthless to me. I like the AVON's nicer stuff, like ANEW Alternative Intensive Age Treatmentt. It costs $32. I like that number.

For night, I'll use either ANEW Retroactive Youth Extending Cream ($27) or ANEW Force Extra Triple Lifting Night Cream (a real insulting name for those of us pushing 50 - lol) at a cheaper $22.

But! AVON had a great deal on the product and I decided why not! So, the product comes, I look at the container and laugh. The container screams "CRAP!!!" It's cheap! It looks cheap! It feels cheap! It's cheap! It's CRAP!!!!

My mom came for a visit. I held it out to her and we both laughed at it.

Once all the laughter died down, I tried it on. I immediately loved the feel. It was thick and creamy and almost a satiny soft to it. Ok. I'm impressed a little.

I put it on my face. It went on soft and smooth. It didn't feel heavy, but nice and soothing. Ok! So, it passed that test, but I was certain within the next few hours my super dry skin would begin to crack and fall off as usual. The hours passed - nothing. hmm.....let's try this baby at night.

The next morning I awoke to find my skin was still soft. Not a dry spot on it. That doesn't happen with either of my ANEW products. I always wake up with dry patches. hmm....maybe AVON cheap isn't so cheap after all!

Lesson learned: Appearances don't always reflect what's on the inside.

I've been using Nurtura Replenishing Cream for several weeks now. I use it both day and night and am loving the results!

How do other customers feel about it? Out of 72 customer reviews Nurtura Replenishing Cream gets 4.8 stars outa 5!

So, go check it out for yourself! Read the reviews and give it a shot! Bet you'll end up as surprised as I did!

Make it a great day!

AVON Product Review! MT Restorative Rescue Balm

Moisture Therapy Restorative Rescue Balm

My mom is the basis for this review. She has a tough time with dry hands (naturally I'd inherit that trait) and comes over frequently to see what I have in my AVON box.

The last time she came I happened to have the above hand cream in stock. She fell in love with it! It's the only one of the AVON hand lotions she's used so far that has helped her 74 year old sierra desert hands and she's tried about everything AVON has.

Since she liked it so well, she's been telling everyone about it that comes through the door. They like it so well they get into hers and now she's run out and not happy that I don't have any extra on the shelf. As a result, I'll be ordering extras this campaign.

Aside from my mom, what do other people think about it? How about 10 out of 11 people would recommend it to a friend! It gets a 4.6 out of 5 stars! It would have gotten 5 stars, but one woman didn't like the way it smelled and another thinks the MT Intensive is better.

So there you have it! Give it a try and see what you think! Get both and do your own comparison! And don't forget to check out the other Moisture Therapy products! There's body lotions and even lip balm!

AVON's Version of Kinoki pads - My stinky review!

I was going to write a post on the AVON version of kinoki pads, but this guy has done such an excellent job on Kinoki pads themselves, that there's really no point in me writing anything.

BUT, I'll throw in my two cents worth anyway.

I field tested the AVON version of Kinoki and this is what I learned:

1. They stink like a sewer when you pull them off your feet.

2. Your feet are left sticky and stinky afterward and it's a bear to get it off.

3. They don't work. At the end of 3 days, my pads were even darker than the first. As you can see from my day 3 pic.

Sadly, these are not "scratch n' sniff " or you too could enjoy the delightful aroma of AVON's version of Kinoki pads! (evil laugh)

In summary: Don't waste your money.

Now, click here to read why these beggers don't work.

BTW, unlike the Kinoki commercials, AVON DOES NOT make the same claims. In fact, AVON makes no claims of any sort, the product is merely offered.

Make it a great day!
